Snow Day Information
Today Feb 2nd, 2021 is a distance learning day in lieu of a snow snow day for Donner Trail and all Donner Summit students.
All other schools are open at this time.
Even though it may have snowed the previous evening, and weather forecasts may be calling for severe weather, the decision to call off school is not made until between 4:30 a.m and 5:00 a.m., after a careful analysis of current road and weather conditions. The Tahoe Truckee Unified School District provides this web page as an additional avenue for parents and students to obtain "snow day" information. To receive information via a recorded telephone message, call (530) 582-2510 or (530) 581-7020
If it is a snow day and schools will be closed or if a decision is made to hold school on a snowy day, every attempt to update this site by 5:30 a.m. will be made. However, technical difficulties with Internet access, or at the website, as well as electrical outages or phone line problems, could result in this site not reflecting accurate information.
Be aware that the Lake Tahoe Unified School District on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe may be closed while the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District is in session. Because of the similarity in school district names, confusion may occur.
Please refer to the list of radio and TV stations for a possible backup. Even though the following TV and radio stations are notified when schools are closed, the school district cannot guarantee when, or if, school closure notification will be broadcast, nor can we guarantee its accuracy.
